Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes follow evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
